Acne. Everybody's worst fear. People put so much time and money into trying to get rid of pesky blemishes. Let's face it, acne is everyone's worst nightmare. However, to high schoolers, it's like the end of the world. When I was a freshman in high school, I had perfect skin. I rarely had any pimples or imperfections. However, as time went on, I got older and the work load got heavier: I started working my first job, I was taking college level classes, and still trying to have a social life. Of course all these things led to a high level of stress which then resulted in being tired, run down, and skin problems.
I tried all the different skincare products that are sold in drugstores along with some homemade remedies but no matter what I did, nothing helped. If you're in high school, everything is a huge deal. That pimple on your forehead feels like it's ruining your life and the only thing people can see when they look at you. Something had to be done because not only was my acne not going away but it was getting progressively worse. Simple whiteheads and blackheads were still there along with cystic pimples. I didn't know what these boil looking bumps were on my face. They were very painful and seemed like pimples but they were much deeper. Cystic acne is when bacteria gets trapped in a pore and the infection spreads deep into the skin. This results in a painful bump filled with pus under the skin. Before this, I had never had any serious skin problems. This is when I realized something needed to be done.
I knew the popular skincare brands such as Neutrogena and Proactiv did absolutely nothing for me besides empty my wallet. After doing some research, I actually learned that these products contain chemicals and acids, such as salicylic acid, in the ingredients. Salicylic acid is what makes your face feel very dry and clean after washing it. However, because it dries out your face of all its natural oils, your skin reacts by producing more oil which can lead to more acne. I decided to take a more natural approach: essential oils. Even if you aren't familiar with these, I'm sure you've heard of tea tree oil. This oil is very popular for its soothing and antibacterial properties which make is so effective in getting rid of pimples. Once I started using essential oils, I started seeing results almost immediately.
And many more. These oils can be applied directly to the problem area and it only takes a drop or two so they last a very long time. Essential oils are 100% natural, free of toxins and chemicals, and more effective than any man made skincare product.
Within a month of consistently using these oils everyday, my skin was completely clear. I no longer felt the need to conceal and cake on my foundation and cover up in attempt to cover up blemishes.
