Watermelon seed tea can be used for cleansing and clearing out the kidneys. It is particularly useful as a home remedy for helping to rid the kidneys of kidney stones. You need to cook, ground or roast watermelon seeds in order to use their healing power. The seeds contain fiber, necessary for proper digestion and efficient in the treatment of intestinal parasites, jaundice, and inflammations. It's relatively simple to make and is made from ingredients most people either have in their kitchen or can easily find.
To make 2 liters, take 4 tbsp. (approximately) of fresh watermelon seeds and eight cups of water, which is equal to 2 liters of water. Grind the watermelon seeds either using a blender or a coffee grinder. The seeds can be removed from a fresh store-bought watermelon and do not have to be purchased separately. Watermelon seeds need to be fresh, so purchasing dried watermelon seeds is not advised.
Bring the water to a boil over high heat on the stove top. Pour the boiling water over the ground watermelon seeds. Allow the watermelon seeds to steep in the boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes. Allow the mixture to cool and strain the liquid then add 8-10 drops of lemon essential oil to the mixture.
Two liters of the watermelon tea can be sipped over a two-day period. On the third day, you should take a break from drinking the watermelon tea. Most people choose to drink half the mixture (or four cups) on each of the two days. You can drink more or less than four cups on day one, but make sure there is enough tea left over after for day two.
