Curing Acne naturally and quickly with essential oils

Pimples and acne. Every teenager's worst nightmare. Name a store brand acne fighting product and I can guarantee I've bought and tried it. I think every kid has googled acne remedies and tried some strange (perhaps questionable) things in effort to get rid of pimples and bad skin. I never had skin problems until recently. As a teenager, I'm either stressing about tomorrow's AP calculus test or sweating my butt off in the gym. Also, as a girl, hormone imbalances and periods are another aspect I must face. There are so many factors in a teens's everyday life that can contribute to pimples and break outs.

Like I said before, I have yet to find a Neutrogena or Proactiv product that actually works for me. Every time I take a look at what's inside these popular skincare products, I don't even know what I'm reading. What exactly am I putting on my skin? What are the side effects? One of the ingredients used in almost all acne treatment creams and cleaners is something called Benzoyl Peroxide. Before doing my research, I knew, just by the name, that it probably wasn't healthy to use this daily on your face. I looked up this ingredient and learned that although it may help some people's skin clear up, it has heavy side effects including peeling, itching, stinging, allergic reactions, and the list goes on. This is just one of the chemicals used and "the safety of it is unknown" stated by the FDA. It took me quite a bit of time and research before I turned completely to natural remedies and more specifically, essential oils.

The first time I tried using an essential oils, I was a little hesitant because the common misconception is oil will create more pimples and will worsen the skin. However, essential oils have healing and antibacterial properties that help clear the skin and prevent breakouts. There's a number of oils you can choose from such as tea tree, lemon, lavender, cedarwood, and geranium oil. You can try each one to see which one is best for you. Lavender is especially good for calming irritated skin and helping with redness. For a specific example, I noticed dry, scaly patches of skin on my eyelid and had no idea what it was. I applied just a drop or two of cedarwood essential oil to it and waited two minutes. I looked in the mirror to check on it and it was completely gone. I could hardly believe this two week long irritation of my skin had been fixed within under five minutes!

The great thing about essential oils is that they not only help with physical things, such as acne, but some also have calming properties. Still stressed about that calculus test? Stress can cause breakouts so use a few drops of essential oils to help with your skin and to also help you relax and relieve stress.
Essential oils have been such a great discovery for me. People don't know much about these oils and are so used to buying what they have in store whether it's because that's what they've always done or because of advertisements. Nobody's every seen Justin Bieber doing a testimonial on how tea tree oil worked miracles for his picture perfect skin. Sure the store bought products may offer a temporary fix for your problem, but what exactly are you putting on your body? Is it going to cause other problems in the future? Essential oils are strong and healing physically and also mentally. They provide a natural cure to nearly every health problem without the harmful chemicals or side effects. I strongly suggest every teenager to stop dumping money into expensive and harmful brand name skincare products. Instead, try out essential oils and see what it can do for you.
